Authors are cordially invited to submit papers for the upcoming special issue of Malayan Nature Journal Volume 76 Part 4. The journal welcomes research articles, short notes, or review articles in the interdisciplinary fields related to urban green spaces and green connectivity in Klang Valley. Currently, the Malaysian Nature Society is earnestly establishing the groundwork for green connectivity in the urban landscapes of Klang Valley and beyond, through a project known as Rantaian Urban Green Spaces or RUGS (www.rugs.my). Collaborating with the GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP), implemented by UNDP, and other prominent stakeholders in Klang Valley, MNS is actively working to establish a green corridor network that promotes harmonious coexistence between people and nature. This special issue aims to present studies and perspectives on urban green spaces, including secondary forests, parks, gardens, riparian zones, green corridors and coastal mangrove ecosystems within Klang Valley and beyond.
Areas of interest for this special journal issue include the following topics:
- Biodiversity
- Ecology
- Environmental law and governance
- Social anthropology
- Natural resource management
- Nature and landscape conservation
We are particularly interested in submissions focusing on topics such as current trends, challenges, and the state of conservation of urban green spaces in the Klang Valley. Researchers and practitioners in these fields are encouraged to seize this opportunity to share their studies and perspectives. Submissions on similar themes in other regions may also be considered, subject to the discretion of the Editors.
